Meeting with students at IT (14/12)

The Quantum Communications Research Group, from the Instituto de Telecomunicações de Aveiro (IT-Av), will organize a meeting with UA students and with students associated with NEEF, on December 14th, at 4:30 pm. The meeting consists of a presentation of the group and its projects, in addition to a visit to the laboratories.

The purpose of the meeting is to attract talented students, in fact, to work in research in the Quantum Communications Group, within the scope of ongoing projects. It is aimed at students in the areas of Electronics, Telecommunications and Telematics; Mathematics, Physics and Engineering.
The meeting will be divided into two parts: presentation of projects and visit to IT laboratories.
Approximate duration of 1 hour and 30 min.

QKD Days in Madrid

The event "QKD days in Madrid" brought together leading QKD experts, as well as European equipment suppliers and policymakers on 14 and 15 December 2022. Sponsored by the QuantaGENOMICS’ partner Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, in collaboration with the Austrian Institute of Technology, and Telefónica, Madrid, the event was an opportunity to join contributions from companies, universities, and researchers from 38 members of a European consortium of the Quantum Flagship to pave the way towards a pan-European infrastructure for secure quantum communication (QKD, Quantum Key Distribution, cryptographic networks). PTQCI partners implemented a Secure Communication Link based on Quantum Technologies

Secure Communication Link  connecting two points, on a 14-kilometer route, in Lisbon. FCCN, IPTelecom and Warpcom, partners in the Portuguese Quantum Communications Infrastructure – PTQCI project, joined forces to implement a modern secure communications link, through a system that combines a quantum cryptographic technology with network and security solutions, connecting two points, on a 14-kilometer route, in Lisbon. A Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) system was used to perform the activity, with the purpose of guaranteeing the security of the generation of cipher keys between two points.
