Quantum Communication Group announces open positions for researchers (for bachelor, MSc and PhD students) to join the team.
International call to select 4 (four) researchers with a master degree in the scientific scope of the project DISCRETION, under the scope of an indefinite term working contract, overseen by the legal Work Code.
Admission Requirements:
Any national, foreign and stateless candidate(s) holding a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Sciences, Informatics, Physics, Physics Engineering, Electronics, Mathematics, Telecommunications, or related scientific fields, and holders of a curriculum that reveals an adequate profile and background for the activity to be developed. Any publication or experience in any of the skills or topics of the work will be considered a plus. Interest in pursuing a Ph.D. study program will be also valued.
Work Objectives:
• Master 1: Design VHDL codes and its implementation on FPGAs boards for real time phase- and frequency-mismatch compensation at receiver side, as well for the generation of high-order constellations at transmitter side of a Continuous-Variable Quantum Key Distribution System;
• Master 2: Design and implementation on Graphic Processing Units (GPUs) of multi-edge type low density parity check algorithms for key reconciliation on Continuous-Variable Quantum Key Distribution Systems;
• Master 3: Design and implementation of a Quantum Key Distribution management layer capable of retrieve cryptographic keys from a physical layer and distribute them from different applications;
• Master 4: Analysis of composable finite-size security of the Continuous-Variable Quantum Key Distribution System implemented in the laboratory, considering discrete modulation.
Monthly salary:
The monthly remuneration to be attributed consists of 1, 424. 38 Euros.

Research grants are intended:
- for students enrolled in a degree-conferring course to carry out R&D activities with the aim to consolidate their scientific training through the development of research work leading to the attainment of the respective academic degree or completion of the course (integrated or not in R&D projects).
- for students enrolled in courses that do not confer an academic degree but which are integrated in an educational project of a higher education institution and are developed in association or cooperation with one or several R&D units.
Candidates must be enrolled in a master's, integrated master's, or in a non-conferring academic degree course in Electrical Engineering, Informatics, Computer Science, Physics Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent; - Background and experience in C++ will be valued. - Self-motivated and self-disciplined; - Capable of working independently on a multidisciplinary, international team.
Work Objectives:
The selected candidate will contribute to the design and implementation of a Quantum Key Distribution management layer/service capable of retrieving cryptographic keys from a physical layer and distributing them from different applications.
Monthly salary:

- for students enrolled in a professional higher technical course, undergraduate degree, integrated master's degree or master's degree, to undertake initial R&D activities, with a view to beginning their scientific training through integration in R&D projects to be developed in national institutions.
- for students carrying out initial R&D activities who are enrolled in non-degree courses integrated in the educational project of a higher education institution, developed in association or cooperation with one or more R&D units.

Contribute in the design and implementation of a network server (back-end and front-end) capable of retrieve prime numbers from a lab physical implementation based on quantum technologies and distributed them to the scientific community.
